From September 28 to October 1, 2017, the 7th International Karate-do Goju-kai Association Global Championships was held at the Richmond Olympic Oval, in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The Karate-Do Gojuka India sent a team along with Coach Sensei Kaivan Fatakia to the prestigious global platform. Despite our small team size Team KGI made India proud with two Silver Medals. Some great moments were spent with our International family and some lasting memories were made. It was a pleasure to watch the best in class in International Karate and to be part of the Championship, representing India.
The Annual KGI Camp and Championship was held at United 21, The Grand in Pune from 26 to 30 December 2017. Students from Dojos across India were present. They included students from Punjab, Kerela and Maharashtra. The highlight of the Camp 2017 was the presence of Shihan Ghulam Mughal (Renshi - 6th Dan ) from Sweden who trained the participants daily in the best of technique. Sir Wilson, an acclaimed Sports Managment professional attended the camp and explained the importance of creating a system for management of sporting lifestyle and careers. The camp was a huge success. It ended on a high note with competitions in both the Kata and Kumite categories.
Canada I.K.G.A. Championship 2017
The K.G.I. is proud to be sending an Indian contingent replete with our Defending Champions and other aspirants to the 7th Karate-Do Gojukai Global Championships, Vancouver, Canada, 2017.
The International Karate-Do Gojukai Association was founded by Kaiso (Founder) Gogen Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi was born on 20th January, 1909 in Kagushima, Japan and was a descendant of the Samurai and the chosen successor of Master Miyagi in 1953.
